Oddly enough, the aforementioned article arrived in my email inbox shortly after I'd contemplated the following:

Often, I encounter opinions I find offensive, unfounded, and grossly different from my own but choose to remain in the presence of those who hold them in order to try to learn something — if not from their thoughts, than about their way of thinking.

^Written after almost unsubscribing to a daily newsletter called Inverse that I receive via email because it voiced opinions I disagree with yet again. In the end, I thought better of it. Perhaps, there's knowledge to be acquired there.
